Now what we want is a nice place to put our logo or text on. The whole gradient thing will over power the text so what we want to do is make a transparent box on the banner where we could put our logo or text. So once again grab the rectangular marquee tool. You will make a box on the banner from top of the banner to the bottom. So go to layer/new layer/and call it box. This box will be only big enough for us to put our logo on. So this is what Ive done.
Now that you have that go to blending options. You can do this by going to layer/layer style/blending options. Then where it says opacity make it to 60.
